What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Students should expect personalized vocal instruction based on their preferred style of music (please reference the genre list in my profile). I tailor my vocal lessons to students personal goals for their voice. Generally, most of my students receive a 2 week basic instruction on basic bel canto, classical, and yogic breathing techniques and musical theatre intonation exercises to establish a basic foundation for the student to get to know their full voice. We also explore how relationship between the body and the voice can be leveraged to created different effects/sounds to adapt to multiple genres. This baseline allows me to learn about each student's voice so they can receive specific help in areas pertaining to their goals for their vocal lessons. The student also will find themselves free and more intimately knowledgeable with their unique instrument! I keep an informal atmosphere with most of my students as we explore how to open up the voice and lay a basic foundation of ease that lends itself to comfortable performances and fun singing and creating music.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
Students should expect to have a basic knowledge of music theory, however, I'm more than happy to teach students music theory and build up to songwriting. We will work on basic pop, blues, and jazz progressions; depending on the student's interests and knowledge level. More advanced students can also use our lesson time to discuss production and arrangement, or higher level concepts.
What to expect in my Record Engineer Produce
Students are expected to have a DAW on their computer and be prepared with questions in regards to their compositions, or have an idea as to where they'd like to focus their attention. I'm highly flexible with engineering lessons, they're dependent on the student's prior experience and musical goals.
