Hi! My name is Juan and I am a Musician/Producer from Caracas, Venezuela. I have been a student of music for over 10 years, graduated cum laude from Berklee College of Music, and have vast experience playing across tons of international live stages and recording studio environments. My teaching style can best be described as contemporary and practical, throughout my career I've experienced how the music industry has evolved and how being a successful musician today is VERY different from what it was 20 years ago. Technology has become a huge factor and an essential tool that coexists with every facet of the modern musician. In my lessons, you can expect to learn musical theory and how to apply it immediately in order to improve your playing or focus on a specific sound depending on your goals. Additionally, I'm more than happy to double as a mentor for your own productions and your contemporary music career. I like to tell my students that the 'tool' doesn't matter, it's the carpenter who wields it; in other words, If you can think it, you can play it. That's why I always start with an emphasis on developing your mind first. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!

What to expect in my Record Engineer Produce
Have you ever felt you're stuck in the 'Intermediate Plateau'? It's totally fine! I've been there myself, YouTube can only take you so far and sometimes it's pretty useful to have somebody to open your ears with music theory and how to apply it immediately, new artists to study or some tutoring in order to build a repertoire to get you out there playing live and jamming with other musicians.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
I live by two words when it comes to singing, breath and tone. By studying with me you'll learn how to breath properly in order to sing your best, how to posture yourself to reach your highest potential, your ear in order to sing in pitch every time and your repertoire in order to get you singing in front of crowds as fast as possible.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
During my time in Berklee I had the fortune to study under Grammy award-winning producer Enrique Gonzalez Muller. After school we have continued to work and produce tracks together. Through him I've learned how to EMOTIONALLY assess musical production and how to translate that into technical and actionable terms. With me you'll learn how to create industry standard mixes and recordings across all genres and learn how to think and listen in order to improve your productions effectively. More often than not, I see producers default to the same piece of gear or the same settings on a plugin because 'it sounds good' so they go ahead and slap a compressor onto everything before thinking about what the song wants to convey. That being said, there is nothing wrong having a favorite piece of gear, as long as there's artistic INTENTION in its use.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Songwriting is a lot of fun but it's very easy to get lost, but the answer lies in one word... STRUCTURE. With me you'll learn how to write emotional and commercially standard songs by learning to understand song types AAA, AABA, verse-chorus, verse refrain, form structure verse, chorus, pre chorus, bridge and rhyme structure. I guarantee that after studying with me, you'll be able to identify structures from your favorite songs and learn how to apply them to your compositions. I'll teach you everything I learnt directly from Pat Pattison, the songwriting teacher that coached John Mayer and Charlie Puth amongst others during their time at Berklee.
