Anthony has always loved music from an early age. He began playing guitar and singing at the age of 10 and continued his education by attending FSU for commercial music. His musical influences include Stevie Wonder, John Mayer, and Incubus .Anthony's favorite thing about music is making it with friends and his favorite thing about teaching music is getting to watch students develop and progress. One of his favorite teaching experiences was a young student finally being able to play a barre chord! When taking lessons with Anthony you can expect to learn songs and gain general theory knowledge, as well as a deeper understanding of the instrument. He looks forward to getting to know you as a student and learning about your specific goals, interests, and learning style. Book a lesson now and get connected right away!
Anthony P. has over 2 years of music experience in the Baton Rouge area.
Anthony P. is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons, Vocal Lessons, Song Writing Lessons, Record Engineer Produce .Degree and Field of Study:
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
I like to teach a variety of skills and give students tasks to help them develop on their own between lessons. Depending on experience, students can expect to learn: chords, notes and their position, theory reading notes and chords, lead sheets if applicable but I also enjoy teaching students songs that they know and like as it can create a friendly practice approach.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Voice was the first instrument I ever worked on, since my mother was a voice teacher herself. In a voice lesson with me, students can expect to learn proper techniques to improve their tone, identifiers to comprehend the intricate moving parts of a voice tongue, throat muscles, etc. Similar to guitar lessons, I like to focus on singing music that the student enjoys, as I believe it entices them to practice with higher quality and more consistently.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
Song-writing is the skill I believe I am strongest at, especially after receiving a 4-year degree with a heavy focus on that particular skill. I can teach students about how music theory lays the basis of most if not all songs, and how that same knowledge can be used to write their own songs. We will analyze musical patterns, melodies, and elements of popular recordings to understand what makes them 'tick'.
What to expect in my Record Engineer Produce
Also connected to my degree, I studied production intensively in a professional music studio. Lessons on production will include basic introductions to various tools and UIs of the respective digital audio workstation. This includes: Buses, loops, effects, routing, clipping, recording techniques, and anything that falls under that umbrella.
