About Me
Mitch was raised in the Atlanta, Georgia area and was exposed to music at a very young age. In his high school days, he was selected to play in many honor bands including District Honor Bands, the Georgia All-state band, and the prestigious BOA Honor Band of America. Mitch was in the internationally award winning Lassiter High School Band where he performed on national television in events which include the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Rose Bowl parade. He has also played at prestigious conventions including the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic with the Lassiter Percussion Ensemble (in which part of the performance was featured on ) and was selected along with his percussion ensemble to play at the prestigious PASIC(Percussive Arts Society International Convention.) Currently, Mitch has just finished four years of study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, pursuing a Professional Music Degree with a focus on performance and music business. He is actively performing/recording with the Dan Palmere Quintet, as well as in various ensembles. He is has been employed by Windish Music Productions in Hershey Pennsylvania where he was under contract to perform concerts 6 nights a week May 16th through August 31st. Mitch has been selected among many applicants to be a student ambassador and study a full semester in Freiburg, Germany for the Berklee in the fall of 2009. Over the four years at berklee, Mitch has studied extensively with such greats as Mark Walker (Latin Grammy winning artist) Mike Mangini(drummer for Steve Vai, record holder for fastest drummer in the world) Larry Finn, Drummer for the "Rent" broadway musical, Dean Anderson, percussionist of the "Boston Pops."

Formal Education:

Lassiter High school, class of 2007 (2) Berklee College of Music, class of 2011 (2) I am currently two classes away from receiving my bachelors degree in Professional Music from Berklee because of a credit transfer delay.

Private Education:

I studied extensively with such greats as Mark Walker (Latin Grammy winning artist) Mike Mangini (drummer for Steve Vai, record holder for fastest drummer in the world) Larry Finn, Drummer for the "Rent" broadway musical, Dean Anderson, percussion of the "Boston Pops."

Performing Experience:

2009: Contracted by Windish Music Productions to perform shows 6 nights a week May through August. 2: Performances at various Boston venues with the "Dan Palmere Quintet." 2007: Performances with the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra (GYSO) along with the GYSO Percussion Ensemble. 2007: Recorded with the Lassiter Percussion Ensemble which was accepted to play at the prestigious PASIC(Percussive Arts Society International Convention.) 2006: Played in the Lassiter Percussion Ensemble which was selected to play at the Midwest Band and Orchestra clinic, played along side with Michael Burritt, Professor of percussion at new england conservatory, and Tim Adams, principal timpanist for the Pittsburgh Symphony. This performance was featured on. 2005: Performed in national television in events with the Lassiter High School band which include the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Rose Bowl Parade. 2005: Performed in a halftime show for the Atlanta Falcons professional football franchise with the Lassiter High School Band. 2: Played for Four years in the Lassiter marching band playing both tenors and snare and was a section leader. 2 Played in the Lassiter Percussion Ensemble.

Experience Teaching:

2: Taught drumset lessons at the Marr Boys and Girls club in Dorchester, Massachusetts(24 students per week.) 2: Hired to work various high school drumline camps to teach rudimental technique, including Lassiter High School.
