Lee Drums,Percussion & Songwriting Teacher & Coach My wife and I just moved down to St Petersburg Fla January 7th Before That: For The Last 3 Years I Have Been Teaching At The Long Island Drum Center In Nyack NY-Here Is My Letter Of Reference From That Drum School: Leehas been working at The Long Island Drum Center located in Nyack NY consecutively, for 3 years come this December 2022. He is a gifted teacher that our students have stuck with and prospered greatly with over the years.His way with children ( Some as young as 4 years old ) Is remarkable. He always seems to find a way to keep them focused and happy at the same time. He also has experience with children and adults on the spectrum. He has some special training that he is able to incorporate when needed or when students have major problems concentrating. He is also great with our adult students. Some have gone on to form their own bands and also play professionally. He can teach the most challenged and the accomplished alike. Lee is also a talented singer songwriter/ Band leader as well.He also teaches hand percussion and is quite accomplished in that realm as well. ( I should know because we have played together on numerous gigs ) I can not recommend him more highly. I am sorry to see him go and so are many of our students. I’ve had quite a few private students over the years on both Dum Set & Hand Percussion-Hand percussion ; such as African Traditional Djembe Drum With Traditional Rhythms. Congas, Cajon, Bongos and more. teaching Afro-Carribean rhythms and western popular rhythms as well  I have been playing and writing original music since I was about 15.yrs old. I am now 45 and have performed all over the America, France, Brazil, Holland, Czech Republic,Slovakia. England, And Germany. I have played on over 15 records and put out an EP of my own music now available to stream on iTunes, Spotify, and other streaming platforms as: Mr Lee And Diversity which also features members of Snarky Puppy. I have special needs training for kids and adults and, have worked and trained in The Sunrise Program For those on the spectrum I am a big promoter of the healing sides of music through working with meditation classes and performing sound-bath or what I call Sacred Percussion-Where I use Tibetan bowls, chrystal bowls, Gongs, and drums that help facilitate healing. I also have been known to contribute as volunteer with some of those modalities. ***Most importantly, I love to teach, and find working with young people extremely rewarding though some times challenging :)) & I Love to share the excitement of drumming, songwriting and the magic of music in general to as many people I can*** I also believe music can help young peoples minds and social skills develop tremendously and believe in self expression through other mediums such as dance, film, and all the arts to be just as important-though music is my favorite way to share that passion and connection. Awesome drum teacher and very talented drummer. Lee is great with my 9 year old. He always gives so much of himself in each lesson and you can feel how much he cares about his students progress. I would highly recommend him as a teacher.

"Lee's Got The Beat"! I taught myself how to play a drum set when I was a teenager back in the 70's. I learned how to play to Classic Rock. I really hadn't played in about 28 years. My wife asked me if I wanted to take drum lessons. I thought why not. I really never learned the rudiments and how to keep time. Four lessons later with Leeand I feel like I'm getting my chops back! Hopefully I had some chops to get back. Lee has a very structured approach but at the same time it is laid back and fun. When a lesson ends I always walk away feeling like I got it. Older or younger new to drumming or not, Lee is the man!-Glenn Cotler
