Hello, my name is Laura. I am a retired elem. music teacher of 23 years. I started playing trumpet at the age of 5, and piano followed the same progression. I have taught piano lessons for 30 years. I am a musician at heart. I am also a song writer. I have written over 800 songs. My main instrument growing up was trumpet, I would love to teach you trumpet. When you take lessons with me you will find I have very high patience, and am kind. Forcing a child to play an instrument is not something I recommend. I child must grow with his or her ability to play. That depends on practicing. Instruments have to be practiced in order to progress. In 1991, I wrote a Character Education program, "Your Character Counts" It was published and sold into elem. schools across Texas and Internationally into Canada, and Germany. I also did a workshop, as a keynote speaker, at the Texas Music Educators Convention in San Antonio, and at the International Character Educators Convention, in St. Louis, Missiouri. I have taught all ages of music education pk-12. I teach online because at this point it is the most convenient thing I can do. Please consider trumpet piano, or songwriting lessons with me.
