My name is Emerson ! I am a graduate of California State University San Marcos with a major in Music and an emphasis on Vocal Performance. I have most practical experience in musical theatre performance for the past decade, through college I have began venturing into the opera world. I am a soprano, but am adapted and equipped to teach all voice types. I have directed in theatre, guiding productions and teaching music and acting. I love music and my favorite thing about teaching is fostering confidence and building up repertoire. I have a well-rounded understanding of theory, piano technique, and will build in lessons with you a practice routine for all you piano needs!

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner - - Intermediate
Implementation of a regular practice routine consisting of scales, lesson books, and songs based on personalized level, interest, and engagement. In my lessons, I focus on teaching students how to learn to ensure that outside of lessons, they gain the ability to develop skills and understanding on their own, developing questions and thinking more deeply about music.
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner - Advanced - Intermediate
In my lessons, I focus on teaching students to listen to their own voice with a thorough musical understanding, so as to achieve the tones and qualities they are seeking. Supporting with sound placement, vowel choices, intonation, and to eliminate any and all discomfort physically and mentally. I studied as an opera singer, but have done 10 years of musical theatre and am well versed in several genres and styles.
Formal Education:
As a graduate of CSUSM, I worked in private lessons with highly qualified instructors for piano and voice, and in my degree took courses in music education and theory.
Private Education:
I have taken voice lessons since I was a child, and in college took private lessons with professors for piano and voice.
Performing Experience:
I have performed in musical theatre for a decade, and in my time in college performed in recitals for voice and piano.
Experience Teaching:
have taught since I was 15 in studio group lessons, studio private lessons, and in-home private lessons. I have music directed stage productions and performed in theatre for 10 years.
