John grew up as the son of a Middle School Band Director and a Church Worship leader so music has always been a part of his life. John began playing Drums at the age of 11 Over the years, he developed his skills further by participating in the marching and jazz bands at my Middle School and High School. He gained performance experience on the drum set by playing at such venues as Sunday and Wednesday worship services and with acts. Though John can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are Rock and Jazz music as well as Marching percussion which had great influence on his style of playing. John loves music because music provides incredible opportunities to grow, learn, perform and meet new people and loves teaching music because he loves to see his students learn and achieve their goals.
