James is a professional musician and music educator specializing in private saxophone and electric bass. He graduated from Richardson HS in Richardson TX. He holds a BM in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas and is a certified k-12 music teacher in both Texas and Colorado. James started his professional performance career in 1990 with Dallas' own Blues great Al 'TNT' Braggs, and continues to serve as performing band leader/arranger for R&B Master Ernie Johnson. He has experienced national and international tours while playing with these outstanding performers.
James has over ten years experience teaching in public schools, from elementary music to middle/high school band & choir; And served as the adjunct saxophone professor at Mesa State College in Grand Junction Colorado for one year. He has been teaching private music lessons for over 20 years developing a very efficient and flexible teaching style that ensures students' enjoyment and maximum musical growth.
