Yoatzin began playing guitar and bass at the age of 13. Over the years, he developed his skills further by practicing consistently. He gained performance experience in the Atlanta area by playing at such venues as The masquerade, Center Stage, smiths old bar, the hard rock, Furnace 41, and with acts such as Menu, DMATB and Heart Surgeon No.1. Though Yoatzin can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are jazz, funk, and Math rock which had great influence on his style of playing. Yoatzin loves music because it is almost therapeutic and an incredible feeling to play with other musicians, and loves teaching music because he enjoys sharing the love for music, and seeing students get better at their instrument.
