Matthew has always loved music from an early age. He began playing drums at the age of 9 and continued his education by adding guitar and piano at the age of 14. His musical influences include Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers also some jazz. Matthew's favorite thing about music is the way it can completely change your day for the better, and his favorite thing about teaching music is watching a student finally nail down a song and the joy on they’re face. One of his favorite teaching experiences was when a student who was really struggling with drums went to travel playing live.
