Lillian W. is proficient in and teaches Vocal Lessons, Song Writing Lessons .What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
I love working with students to find their vocal confidence. In lessons we will cover the basics-the fundamentals of music theory and maintaining good vocal health. We will develop a warmup routine that will be begin every lesson with, and for you to use as part of your practice between lessons. We will determine your individual goals, and build on your strengths. I want to know what kind of music you like and what styles you want to sing. Learning to sing should be a joyful and empowering process, and that is the kind of environment I create in my lessons!
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
I believe that being a good songwriter is all about finding your voice, and telling a story with intention. I have a decade of experience writing music, recording in studios, and working with producers. Even with all of that I am still learning! I know how vulnerable it is to put your work under a microscope and pick it apart. It's my job to push students to be more articulate, descriptive, and honest. Students have time to share during our lessons, and discuss their goals for their work. We will cover the basics of songwriting, from structure, to style, to process. I assign writing prompts and exercises for practice during the week. I also believe that in order to write great music you have to listen to great music. I may assign listening homework across a variety of genres and artists. In lesson we will dissect these songs to find what it is that makes them so impactful. I will always treat your work and your process with respect. I understand how much courage it takes to share, and receive feedback.
