Kurry has a BM and MM in music education and performance. His major instruments are percussion, piano, and multicultural music instruments such as the steel drums, taiko drums, and music from several areas of the world. Kurry is a marching percussion specialist and endorser of Vic Firth Sticks, Remo heads, and Zildjian Cymbals. He is a member of MENC and has performed multiple times at the Percussion International Convention.
