Melodyis currently a student at Charleston Southern University studying Choral Music Education. At CSU, she studies voice, and sings in their audition-based concert choir, Concert Singers, and the female choir, Bel Canto. She hopes to complete her degree and become a music teacher in South Carolina. She has obtained an Associates of Science from Trident Technical College. She currently works as the Children’s Choir Director at Second Presbyterian Church located in Downtown Charleston, and sings as a soprano in their adult choir. She is also a tutor for music theory at CSU, helping underclassman understand and work with different music concepts. Ms.has been featured in many musicals, such as; Frozen the Musical, Newsies, Shrek the Musical. She was recently featured in Pergolessi’s Stabat Mater with the Bel Canto choir of CSU. Ms.has a true passion for teaching and is so excited to work with all students of different ages and levels. She also has a love for music and believes that music is not only a way of entertainment, but a healer, and through the power of music, lives can and will be changed.

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
By the end of the first lesson, the student will be able to label all keys on the piano. Moving forward through lessons, the student should expect to progress through a mix of understanding and motivation. Going at the pace of the student is very important and they should never feel pushed to a level they feel they truly cannot accomplish.

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
The student should come in being able to label all the keys in the piano, and should know (relatively) all the scales on the piano. (Including sharp and flat keys). The student will continue to progress respectively to their own pace, keeping their skill set in mind throughout all lessons.
