Hi, my name is Alfonso Alf for short and I am from the Portland/Beaverton, OR area. I have been a student of music for 40+ years. My musical influences include Blues, Soft Rock, Pop and I also enjoy Blues Jazz, and Contemporary Folk. My teaching style can best be described as laid back but with a plan. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that a plan with goals is important. But, having flexibility and fun is just as key. In my lessons, you can expect to learn a structured method of note, chord, rhythm, and theory. I like to tell my students that while we’ll have a plan, based on your needs, I don’t want to lose sight that this is supposed to be fun! My favorite thing about teaching is seeing a student’s eyes and face light up…when they get it!!! …Whether it be theory or practice.
