Hi! My name is Bill. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree in music performance from Virginia Tech in May 2022, and am excited to begin professional work in a career I am genuinely passionate about. The focus of my studies at Virginia Tech was flute performance, but also incorporated several classes pertaining to education and composition. My coursework has included classes in music theory, music composition, music history, ear and voice training, conducting, private flute lessons, and piano lessons. Beyond my academic studies, I have also arranged and starred in stage musicals! My primary extracurricular hobby is composing. I have written two musicals myself and don't intend to let up on that any time soon! I also quite enjoy transcribing, arranging, and engraving existing works. Across all of this, the work that has been the most rewarding to me is being a part of diverse groups with a collective enthusiasm for sharing the joys and the beauty of music with others. There's nothing like the feeling of working together to teach each other new skills, learn from the experiences of others, and then be able to put those skills into practice through the celebration that is music performance. I hope that I get the honor of spreading that joy to students all throughout the area!
