-What instruments do you play and teach / what level can you teach Voice-beginner to advanced Guitar-beginner to intermediate Piano-(by request) beginner Theory Songwriting Production -Why do you love music/ experience as a musician I fell in love with music at a very young age. I was first exposed to music through my father, who is a guitarist. He would play and sing to me even before I was born. I remember begging him to teach me to play guitar all throughout my childhood until finally, he gave me my first guitar when I was 7 years old. Ever since then it feels like I’ve had music ingrained in my soul. All I’ve wanted to do is to be able to share music with others, just like my father did for me. -What are your influences? (favorite genres, bands, musicians etc.) My musical influences have a wide range from Norah Jones to Stevie Nicks to Hayley Williams to James Taylor to Etta James. My parents exposed me to so many different genres growing up and it directly affected my eclectic taste. My favorite artists/bands are Fleet Foxes, Julien Baker and Wednesday. -Your approach to teaching: Principles I live by as a teacher: letting students love music and have fun with it, allow students to be curious and explore their specific interests within their instrument, be supportive and encouraging while guiding them as their teacher, and never shy away or be afraid of hard work. -Specific teaching experience I was in charge of the Artist Development program at Passion Academy, which was a songwriting/production course for students to explore their own voice as a songwriter and record original music. I also was a mentor in voice, guitar, and beginner piano. During my time at Passion, I also was in charge of various voice camps during the summer and student recitals/showcases throughout the year. -How many years you have played/taught? 20 years of playing guitar, 15 years as a vocalist, 4 years of teaching experience. I actively play in three bands, including my own project, and also gig frequently as a solo artist. I love music so much I've made it my career and I would love the opportunity to share that with my students.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
-Fun and educational warm-ups that allow us to dig into some technique and develop more skill as a vocalist. Warm-ups will be targeted to needs of student (i.e. we are working on singing through our "passaggio" or flip in our voice so I will make sure the warm ups are focused on those specific areas within their register) Warming up the voice is incredibly important so I like for students to spend 10-15 min on exercises from stretching, breathing and vocalizing before we start working on their material.-Work on material. I like my students to feel like they have a say in what we work on so I often will have them bring in music they want to learn. Through this, I'm able to work with them and learn more about their voice and specific needs. The majority of the lesson will be spent going through exercises to strengthen their instrument.
