Hi, my name is Stephanie and I am an avid guitar player from NC. I have been a student of music since I was 7 years old growing up around a “musically” talented family for almost 40 years. My musical influences include my father lead guitarist of over 30 years who taught me to master acoustic guitar/ singing and playing guitar; my cousin who has a master's in teaching music/ teaching string orchestra in SC; my sister who owns and teaches dance in NC; Sheryl Crow; plus many other well-known musicians. I also enjoy riding and training horses/ plus giving horseback riding on my farm in my free time. My teaching style can best be described as entertaining and eye-opening. No judgment ever for we all learn at a different pace/style no matter our age or background. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I am untuned to what type of teaching style each child/ person may need. In my lessons, you can expect to learn notes/chords, how to play them, **how to play on the beat, while singing if that is also something you would like to add to your newfound skills. I like to tell my students being born with talent is one thing, but what makes anyone truly great at anything, especially music, is the “want” to do and the willingness to learn, and take the time to practice! My favorite thing about teaching is the re I receive when someone starts to really “get” what they are learning and enjoy it in the process. My favorite performances growing up were performing in singing/dancing around NC. My students love that I am fun and able to teach them in an entertaining way. I primarily teach acoustic guitar/singing, but I can also teach how to read music and basic lead guitar skills. My approach as a teacher is to find what ones to learn and guide them into an area of music that brings them joy and/or excels in aspects of life/ *music. Thanks for taking a look at my profile.
