Hi, my name is Orlando and I am an All-Around Percussionist from Las Vegas. I have been a student of music for 8 years. My musical influences include Jazz, Latin, and Classical and I also enjoy Rock, Metal, Indie, and Hip Hop. My teaching style can best be described as creating self-improving students. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I guide the students to be able to self-identify and isolate the challenges they face, allowing them to practice intentionally. In my lessons, you can expect to learn several genres of drumming/percussion playing as well as songwriting, with an emphasis on playing comfortably at multiple tempos and correctly understanding rhythms. I like to tell my students that they decide what our goals are, and work alongside them to achieve it. My favorite thing about teaching is watching students learn so much more from small goals than they expected. My favorite performance was a Heritage Festival Jazz Performance in New York with my High School Jazz Band. My students love that I describe concepts well. I primarily teach Drumset, but I can also teach All Percussion and Songwriting. My approach as a teacher is to teach students to teach themselves. Thanks for taking a look at my profile.
