Rich was surrounded by many elite musicians his whole life. His father, John, who was a superior Tuba and Stand Up String Bass Player, and his brother as an accomplished professional trumpeter. Rich was introduced into true musicianship at 5 years old and has been getting paid to perform since 1958. He is a Vic Firth Drum Educator and a certified member of the Teacher Integration Program. He is also the Founder/Director of Rich's Drum System, a business founded in 2009, and publisher of ,"Rich's Drum System for Young Children," in 2011.
Rich is phenomenally proficient in all styles of music: Dixieland, Big Band Jazz, Blues, Rock, Contemporary Christian, Gospel, Swing, etc. He has had the pleasure of meeting and befriending professional drummer, Keith Thibideaux (played "Little Ricky" in the "I Love Lucy" show of the 1950's) in 2007. Keith sang Rich's praises when he heard him play for fun. And Rich sang Keith's praise as well!

Rich Sp. has over 50 years of music experience in the Littlestown area.
Rich Sp. is proficient in and teaches Drum Lessons .Formal Education:
Trained in Music Theory and Note Reading by my father, John, who is a professional musician (Stand up Bass and Tuba). Self taught and Expert Drum Work Shops were my primary training.
Private Education:
I was taught by Vic Firth who is a Drum Educator.
Performing Experience:
I have played full set drum for Fayetteville Technical Community College Drama Dept. for "The Music Man," Cape Fear Regional Theater for "White Christmas, Christ at Four Square Church in Westminster, Maryland, and with "Redeem the Day," with whom a CD was recorded . He was also the youngest musician (fifteen years old) to get paid playing with the well reknown band of old, "Shelley's Emeralds Band," from 1964 - 1976. From 1976 - 1978, he played with "Lite-N-Easy," and from 1978 - 1981 he played with the "Grand Junction Band." Each of these bands were known to travel throughout the Balitmore/Washington area.
Experience Teaching:
I have been successful in teaching all ages. Some have gone off to be well respected drummers with Hillsong in Australia, while others have formed bands and are now getting paid to perform after receiving and my instructions.
