Josh began playing piano and guitar at the age of nine years old. Over the years, he developed his skills further by studying at Charleston Southern University where he received his Bachelors degree in Music Education. Go Bucs!!! He gained performance experience in the Charleston area by playing at such venues as the Gaillard Theater, the Sottile Theater, the North Charleston Performing Arts Center, Dock Street Theater and his local church with acts such as West Side Story, You’ve Got to Be Carefully Taught, the Colour of Music Festival, and many church functions/conferences. Though Josh can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are Classical and Gospel which had great influence on his style of playing. Josh loves music because music is the language of the invisible. Music, as well as other art forms, is how we express ourselves in a way that’s understandable to everyone, no matter race, culture, or religion; and loves teaching music because he loves giving others the tools to effectively express through music.
