Thanks for taking a moment to learn who I am, and how I can help! Classes I teach: *Piano *If you've ever looked at piano and wished you could sit down play; or want that for your child. I am the teacher for you. --Styles: Jazz, R&B, Country, Pop, Soul, Hip-Hop, Rap, EDM, Trap, House, Rock, Alternative *Singing Lessons *Even if you think your child is hopeless and they want to sing; I may be able to help. I have an incredible ability to develop voices. I have an ear to hear what "you" can't. In most cases, no one is hopeless. I went from being told, "I didn't have a voice" to "voice of an angel" I have developed hundreds of voices and helped many to reach their dreams. Professional Background I have a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Hobe Sound Bible College. Previously I earned an Associates degree in Jazz Studies from Cuyahoga Community College and then later studied at Berklee College of Music. I am a trained and gifted vocalist. I am a piano player and guitar player. I have played guitar in several church bands. I have lead services on organ and piano. More over I have performed concerts as a vocalist and piano play and guitar player. I learned to read music as well as create it. I learned to play music by ear; from even being called nearly "tone-deaf" by a former teacher. I improved my skill by an impeccable range. I have taught music for over a decade and have a lifetime of experience. Teaching Philosophy Understanding my student is one of my top priorities. Setting goals and benchmarks to reach those goals is how I make progress with my students. Playing what you feel and singing what you hear is an ability. Building a solid foundation in piano playing is where my strength lies. In this ability "you" will never not "know" how to play even if you forget a song you learned. With my foundational base; one will be able to play piano for a lifetime, regardless of "memorizing" songs or having to have "sheet music". I teach students how to play the instrument and how to play what they hear and feel. This allows a musical person to play their favorite songs or create new songs. I also teach real music theory. My students will know all the mathematical procedures behind the music. It has been noted by experts that music helps improve math I think Albert Einstein would have agreed. I expose the math and calculations behind putting music together. Thus when one knows the formula one can always produce! Hence, here I build abilities for a lifetime; and your students will have the foundation and or be able to play piano for the rest of their lives. My goal is to help students to "hit those notes" when they are singing. Breathwork, vocal agility, vocal health, and growth without strain or harm are the approaches I take. Effective singing isn't always about "hitting the notes" either, so we form a strong vocal presence even when just singing the building blocks of a song.
