Hello! I'm Elyza, and I bring a blend of expertise, passion, and always, FUN to every French horn, or brass, lesson. With two music degrees and a solid foundation in education, I’ve got what it takes to model for your student and help them grow. My experience spans private lessons, student teaching, and comprehensive coursework, all aimed at making music an adventure for learners of all ages. But here’s the thing: my lessons are not like the typical, run-of-the-mill private sessions. I believe music should be an incredible journey, filled with laughter and creativity. My goal is to ignite your student’s passion for the French horn, transforming practice from a chore into something they adore. Together, I will work with your student explore the world of music in a way that's engaging and genuinely fun! Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions-I cannot wait to meet you!

Performing Experience:
I have experience performing in bands and orchestras for 15 years, across the world and in community. My repertoire is extensive, as I have branched out to many different types of music within the Brass world, performing in new music ensembles, jazz, latin music, etc on some of the nations biggest stages: Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and various national symphony halls. I am fortunate to have performed as a soloist with the Georgia State University Wind Ensemble, and collaborated on concerts with Atlanta Symphony and Nashville Symphony artists.
Experience Teaching:
I have completed student teaching, gone through the entirety of a music education program (of which I did not complete due to a lab science not fitting in my collegiate schedule). I have been teaching private lessons for 10 year, and have done extensive research on practice methods and techniques that will propel my students to success.
