About Me
Growing up in Denver, CO, my musical journey took root in middle school when I joined various bands as a bassist. One of these bands, Sliquid, became a cornerstone of my musical career. In 1997, we made the bold move to Chicago, IL, aiming to pursue music professionally and cultivate a grassroots following. Over the years, Sliquid recorded 8 full-length studio albums, crafted 2 film scores, and contributed to numerous stage productions and live performances. Our partnership with Tommy Shaw's startup label marked a significant milestone, propelling us through the Midwest bar circuit and Rocky Mountain venues for 15 exhilarating years. Following Sliquid's disbandment in 2002, my focus shifted to live sound engineering while maintaining involvement in Grateful Dead tribute bands and jazz ensembles with fellow musicians of graduate school caliber. From 2013 to the present, I've embraced the role of music instructor, sharing my expertise in theory and technique across diverse age groups and skill levels. Additionally, my passion for music craftsmanship led me to explore luthiery, mastering the art of crafting Americana folk instruments from raw materials. I'm excited to continue nurturing musical talent and inspiring the next generation of musicians.
