Daniel S.

Daniel is a tuba player born in Altagracia de Orituco in Venezuela and raised in Caracas, in Venezuela he formerly held the Principal Tuba position of the Municipal Symphony Orchestra of Caracas and was also a member of the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra. In addition to these Daniel has performed with many of the major ensembles in Venezuela. Daniel has performed recitals in Venezuela, Costa Rica, and the United States. He has been featured as a Soloist, in pieces such as Jesus Milano’s Concerto for Tuba and Wind Band, and the Edward Gregson Tuba Concerto, both accompanied by the Banda Marcial Caracas Venezuela and The Municipal Band of Heredia Costa Rica. As a teacher Daniel has served as faculty at the Simon Bolivar Conservatory, at the Emil Friedman School in Caracas as a tuba and euphonium instructor, at the Experimental University of the Arts in Venezuela. He has also been invited as guest teacher for the Costa Rican Tubas Encounter Costa Rica in 2018, the Low Brass Festival in Coro Venezuela, and has given diverse masterclasses Caracas and other cities of Venezuela, the National Conservatory of Music Mexico, and at the Superior Conservatory of Quito Ecuador. Daniel in collaboration with the National School of Tubas in Venezuela, recently created the Caracas Tuba Fest and held its first edition in the city of Caracas during summer of 2022, a festival dedicated to the education and performance of the Tuba and the Euphonium in Venezuela. Daniel holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Tuba Performance received at the Boston Conservatory, a Professional Performance Certificate at Lynn University, a Master’s Degree in Performance at the University of Northern Iowa, and currently he is studying to receive his Doctorate in Musical Arts at The University of Nevada Las Vegas. Daniel comes from "El Sistema" in Venezuela and believes that music can generate a change in society and that music education should be accessible to everyone who seeks it.
