Hi there! My name's Nick, and I've been drumming for as long as I can remember. I grew up in West Des Moines, and first started drumming in 5th grade band at Sacred Heart School. In high school I joined the Dowling Catholic Drumline, which went on to be ranked as one of the top 10 best high school drumlins in the country. I spent two years as Drumline captain, competing and performing in places like Austin, Indianapolis, and Chicago. During my time at Dowling Catholic, I spent all four years practicing and performing with the school's top jazz band. Once in college, I focused on getting my degree in English Education, and music became a different kind of hobby. I began producing music electronically, using digital audio workstations DAWs like Ableton and GarageBand to make the music I wanted to hear. I experimented with recording techniques and taught myself how to create on the fly. After graduating, I began teaching English at the middle school level. During the pandemic, I stepped back from full-time teaching and worked in-house as a childcare provider and an extra layer of support through online schooling. Most recently, I worked with high school juniors and seniors to get them connected with careers after graduation. I'm primarily looking to teach drums/drum set, but I'm also comfortable teaching basics in: -Piano -Music production -Vocal performance -DJ -Music tech/hardware I look forward to working with you!
