Grace began singing and playing guitar at the age of 8. Over the years, she developed her skills further by taking private lessons, studying music in school and keeping herself as immersed in her craft as possible. She gained performance experience worldwide by playing at venues from the Hotel Café in Los Angeles to the Vatican in Italy. Though grace can teach many genres of music, her musical personal favorites are Nina Simone, Jill Scott, and Jazmine Sullivan, which had great influence on her style of singing. Grace loves music because of the power it has to heal and the freedom of expression it allows, and loves teaching music because she believes everyone should have such a cathartic outlet. What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
Students will be encouraged to find their own personal vocal style while maintaining focus on healthy singing, proper breath support, and other traditional vocal techniques. Students will have the opportunity to not only expand their vocal range, but master vocal agility, and endurance while performing. Students will also be encouraged to explore new vocal styles, empowered to sing unfamiliar or uncomfortable genres, and challenged to take on new skills (such as sight singing), as to become well-rounded vocalists and musicians.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
Students can expect to master basic concepts (such as scales, proper chord shapes, rhythm, and basic theory) that will later assist in improvisation, whether playing solo or with other musicians. Students will also be challenged to learn to read sheet music, guitar tabs, and chord charts, as to prepare them to perform comfortably in any given setting.
Formal Education:
Grace completed the Applied Music program with an emphasis on Vocal Performance in spring of 2020. In addition to 2 years of private classical training, Grace studied music theory, ear training, and sight singing for over 4 years. She is currently pursuing her BA in music while emphasizing her career as an independent artist.
