Hi my name is Josh and music has been my life ever since I can remember. I started playing piano around the age of 5 years old and continued throughout high school. During my middle school I picked up percussion and decided to focus on that after high school, going on to achieve my Bachelors in Fine Arts from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and my Masters of Music and Performer's Certificate in Orchestral Studies from Roosevelt University's Chicago College of Performing Arts under the tutelage of musicians from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Lyric Opera. During the summers, I attended the Aspen Music Festival and School, performing with premiere musicians from around the world under the baton of such famous conductors as Alan Gilbert, Marin Alsop and David Zinman. After graduation, while freelancing with countless ensembles and orchestras around the tri-state area, I also pursued a passion in electronic music. I started a record label with fellow performers and honed my skills in music production and DJing. We recently celebrated our 7-year anniversary. I currently am in a rock band called Shear as well as perform live electronic music with my group Aathee in addition to various other side projects. While I've also embarked on a new career path with a day job in insurance, I have significant experience teaching privately and would like to get back to it, as I've missed it greatly. I am passionate, committed, accountable and professional and I would love to share my passion with you or your child or student.
