Geri began playing guitar at the age of 6, piano began in her undergrad and she’s been singing since she was little, but started taking lessons when she was 10. Over the years, she developed her skills further by taking lessons and songwriting. Helping her to understand music as a tool for expression and storytelling. She gained performance experience in her church as a singer and guitar player, as well as performing at such venues as some local restaurants in her home town of Frisco, Tx. And has acted in operas in her undergrad, such as the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella. Though Geri can teach many different genres of music, her musical personal favorites are indie, pop, classic rock, and jazz, which had great influence on her style of playing. Geri loves music because of how it allows you to express what you’re feeling in a way beyond just words. And loves teaching music because she loves to help singers and new musicians gain confidence and find their instrument.
