Nickis an electric / upright bassist originally from Saint Marys. He studied Commerical Music for 3 years at Kutztown University, and has worked professionally since the age of 15. His influences range from Les Claypool, Jaco Pastorius, Alex Webster, Charles Mingus, to even Fat Mike. He has also recorded 4 EPs by local singer-songwriters, as well as numerous works with Kutztown University's award-winning Rock Ensemble 1

Rhythmic exercises, reading notation, gig expectations, stylistic versatility, ability to play all styles with fingers AND pick, professional environment, emphasis on what student wants to learn and achieve on the bass

Studied Commerical Music at Kutztown University, studied bass under C. Scott Lee (Chet Baker, Nancy Wilson)

Private lessons under Dr. Paul Fehrenbach on bass and music theory
