Hi, my name is Mike, and I am a drummer from the Lehigh Valley. I have been a student of music for 50 years. My musical influences include Rush, Styx, Phil Colli ns, Paul Macartney, the Beatles and I also enjoy Barry Manilow, Journey, Abba. My teaching style can best be described as unconventionally relaxed. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I believe in my student and encourage them. I will help you achieve your drumming goals, beginning by working on music of your choosing. Learning your favorite songs can be a great way to start to understand the instrument. In my lessons, you can expect to learn all the basic drumming skills and how to apply them to different types of music. I like to tell my students you can do it, i believe in you now do the work. My favorite thing about teaching is helping people recognize their love of music and become a creative force. My favorite performance was seeing Neil pert, one of the greatest rock drummers EVER! My students love that I am informal, relaxed and belief learning should be fun I primarily teach drums, but I can also teach percussion. My approach as a teacher is to be honest, to be real, to show up and make it fun. I am willing to go the direction the student wants to go, if there is a challenge we will address it, if there is something that sparks a fire in the student-we will follow that.
