Hi, my name is Valerie and I am a singer from New York. I have been a student of music for 35 years. My musical influences include 90s R&B singers such as Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey and I also enjoy listening to Renee Fleming. My teaching style can best be described as fun and enjoyable. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I feel most students thrive in an environment where they are comfortable and has a safe space to be the creative musician they are! In my lessons, you can expect to learn how to sing multiple music style from theater, contemporary or Art Song. I like to tell my students "do not limit yourselves to what you think you could only acheive but be open to challenging yourself to new heights musically. My favorite thing about teaching is watching the musical growth in my students. It's unmatched! My favorite performance was singing in Lord of the Rings. My students love that I am lively and speak their language. I primarily teach voice, but I can also teach beginner piano.
