Hello! My name is Emily, and I am a singer and a pianist. I began playing piano at the age of 4 and began studying voice in high school. I then earned my Bachelors in Classical Voice and Piano at Bard College. I love music because of its evocative and communicative power. Music is a universal language! My own musical journey has made apparent to me that every student learns differently and encounters unique obstacles. I make it a point to tailor my lessons to each student. My formal training is in classical music, so that is the genre I teach and understand the best. However, I believe the vocal and piano techniques I teach establish a firm foundation and grant my students the fluency and skill to adapt to different genres of music.
