Hi, my name is Larry, andI am a clarinetist from Bakersfield, born and raised. I have been a student of music for almost 23 years. I enjoy many genres from classical to rock to ambient/synth. My teaching style can best be described as personalized and fun. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I provide a safe and encouraging space for students to make mistakes and not judge themselves. In my lessons, you can expect to learn music theory basics, fundamentals, strong practice habits, and passion. I like to tell my students that "dynamics are everything!". My favorite thing about teaching is watching my students transform into whatever kind of musician they want to be and own it. My students love that I am patient and use humor and hyperbole to make lessons something to look forward to. I primarily teach clarinet, but I can also teach various other wind instruments.
