About Me
Mr. Prentice is an accomplished music educator and performer with over 15 years of experience guiding students to excellence in music. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Clark Atlanta University and a Master’s in Music Education from the University of Georgia. With a foundation rooted in both performance and pedagogy, Mr. P has dedicated his career to developing skilled, confident musicians. As a saxophonist, he excelled as the 1st chair Alto Saxophone player in his university’s jazz orchestra, performing at high-profile events such as the nationally televised Soul Train Awards and the Jazz Educators Network Conference. In his teaching career, Mr.has directed middle and high school bands to achieve significant milestones, including Superior Ratings at adjudicated events, national tours, and standout performances at regional music festivals. As a leader in music education, he has revitalized programs and inspired students to achieve their best, earning recognition for fostering excellence in both individual and ensemble performance. Currently, as a band director in the Cobb County School District, contributes to one of the nation’s most celebrated music programs. The district has been recognized as one of the “Best 100 Communities for Music Education in America” since 2000, a testament to its commitment to fostering exceptional opportunities for student musicians.

His professional affiliations include active membership in the Georgia Music Educators Association (G.M.E.A.), where he participates in professional development and adjudicated events. He is a lifetime member of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity, Inc., contributing to the advancement of collegiate band programs, and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., where he is committed to leadership and cultural enrichment.
