Hi, my name is Miriam, and I am a Singer/Songwriter from Atlanta. I have been a student my whole life, taking park in Chorus, women's and honor chorus, Allstate, and many more. My musical influences include Adele, Rihanna, and Jennifer Hudson and I also enjoy artist like Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, and Ariana Grande. My teaching style can best be described as adaptable and hands on. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I help to improve and expand the natural talents you may already possess when it comes to music. In my lessons, you can expect to learn the basics of music theory, songwriting tactics and how to expand on ideas, vocal scales, expressing emotions, and breathing techniques. I like to tell my students that music comes from the heart. Singing is a feeling, it’s an expression, and most importantly it’s a way to connect. My favorite thing about teaching is watching children grow in confidence, in emotional maturity, and just have fun singing. My students love that I take the time to connect with each child individually. I started off teaching coding and STEAM for minority students, focusing on audio production and marketing, but I’ve also taught songwriting and how to create a good song. I currently partner with Sony Music on songwriting, and has been a pleasure to share some of the resources I’ve gotten from my experiences working with talented and established songwriters, producers, and artists.
