Jay began playing guitar, at the age of 14 years old. He has performed as a harmonica player, percussion and mandolin player as well. Over the years, he developed his skills further by playing in bands, composing music for films and jamming around campfires. He gained performance experience globally by playing at venues all over the US and touring in Japan, China, Mexico, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, & Singapore with such acts as The Elected Officials punk rock, Bootleg country, rock, blues, The Persecuted, Trumpcard and more. Though Jay can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are punk, blues, bluegrass, & rock which had great influence on his style of playing. Jay loves music because it helps people enjoy their lives and loves teaching music because it also helps people enjoy their lives.
