About Me
Hello my name is P.J. I am a guitarist, bassist, singer, songwriter, producer, and drummer. I have been a musician for over 7 years and have been in many bands filling pretty much every role there is. I’ve taken lessons with Grammy award winning musicians and had the opportunity to open for bands such as The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Papa Roach. I have a passion for teaching all instruments I’ve learned and as a instructor I like to keep the students engaged by teaching them proper theory and technique while also teaching them songs they love. As a instructor I like to see what way of teaching works best for each student so that every student has a chance to develop.

Peter D. has over 10 years of music experience in the Denver area.

Peter D. is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons, Bass Guitar Lessons, Drum Lessons, Song Writing Lessons, Orchestral Lessons .

What to expect in my Drum Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Beginner-student will start by learning the most basic rhythms on a practice pad and slowly move into playing a beat with the whole kit. Once the student is ready we will start learning parts of songs with that drum beat. Intermediate-students will begin to learn more complex patterns using things like polyrhythms. We will go in between practice pads and the full kit. Advanced-For advanced drum students we will start learning rhythmic independence in each limb. We will use rudiments and polyrhythms to play these beats and once the student is ready they will create their own best using rhythmic independence.

What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Beginner-students will start to learn vocabulary for understanding sheet music as well as music theory in general. We will start breaking down modes, chords, and scales so that the student understands how to connect the pieces they are writing. Advanced-Advanced students will start with learning how to write music for multiple instruments in different octaves to understand how to write music for a full band or even orchestra. Students will get a chance to write full songs that I will help record so that the student can progress after their lessons with their own music.

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Beginner-at a beginner level guitar is quite intimidating. To get around the barrier we will learn basic techniques, theory and then teach the students favorite riffs using those techniques Intermediate-For intermediate guitar students they should expect more lessons on theory.
