Bryce P.

Bryce is a dedicated & passionate drummer/musician from Norfolk, VA. Bryce's musical journey began at the very young age of 3 when he received his first drum kit. His keen understanding of rhythm and music fundamentals led him to private instruction by the age of 6. He has since maintained a disciplined life of musical study and performance; Later auditioning for and being accepted to the Governor's School for the Arts in Norfolk, VA for Jazz drumset. The extensive education he received from GSA earned him an acceptance letter from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA with a $10,000 scholarship as well as an acceptance offer from New England Conservatory for a masters degree in music performance. Bryce maintains the mindset that music is bred in the heart and soul, not books or classrooms; Though an academic environment is necessary to learn fundamentals, there is no forcing greatness. Bryce believes we should be patient and curious with ourselves in the pursuit of art so as to not sterilize our own creativity. Each one of us has a unique and beautiful perspective/approach to art-making. Bryce's goal with teaching is to embrace and encourage that uniqueness within the guidelines of principle technique or theory. We may all arrive at the same conclusions, but it's how we get there that matters most.
