Hi, my name is Olivia! I am 21 years old! I am originally from Idaho Falls ID, but currently living in Rexburg because my husband is studying at BYU-I! I have been a student of music for the past 12 years. My musical influences include playing the piano and singing, oh how I love MUSIC! I also enjoy hiking, paddle boarding, playing games with my family, watching funny YouTube videos with my husband and reading fantasy books! My teaching style can best be described as point based learning. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I believe that music is something that connects everyone together, as it is the universal language! Being able to express yourself through music, to me, is the most freeing experience! In my lessons, you can expect to learn how to identify the specific notes and keys associated with them. Over the span of months, you will be able to play beginner sheet music to your favorite songs. Music theory I believe is the most important part to learning an instrument, so you would expect to memorize flashcards every week. I like to tell my students music is fun, but also challenging, but just because it is hard, does not mean you cannot enjoy it!. My favorite thing about teaching is being able to see my student share the same love for music and have this passion for wanting to excel. I like to do a point based teaching method. Each day they practice, they get a certain amount of points. Points are equal to money. Over time, depending on the price of the prize and how hard they work, they will earn a prize of their own choice! I primarily teach beginners!
