Hi, my name is Gabe and I am a drummer from Ohio. I have been a student of music for 10+ years. My musical influences include funk, jazz, rock, punk, metal, concert band, and gospel, and I also enjoy country. My teaching style can best be described as informative yet patient. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that practice doesn’t make perfect but it makes you pretty darn good! In my lessons, you can expect to learn not only how to read and interpret music, but how to feel the music and cue others on where to take the music. I like to tell my students you don’t get good overnight and repetition is the best form of discipline. My favorite thing about teaching is watching the practice being applied in real time. Seeing something being worked on get work into a real-life setting is the best part. My favorite performance was in Jazz Band in highschool. My students love that I am silly but also serious. I primarily teach drums/percussion, but I can also teach electric bass guitar. My approach as a teacher is to normalize mistakes and control your muscles at slow speeds to maintain consistency at higher rates of speed. Thanks for taking a look at my profile.
