About Me
Hi! I'm Ellie, a 21 year old singer based in Easton, PA. I'm currently a senior at Kutztown University majoring in Commercial Music, and I've been singing professionally for about 3 years now. At Kutztown, I've studied and performed most genres of popular music, including Jazz, Rock, RnB, Soul, Funk, Pop, and more. I participated in KU's Rock Ensemble 1 and Jazz Ensemble 1 for 3 years, and in that time the rock band won 3 Downbeat Magazine Student Awards. I am also trained in opera, and have studied and performed a variety of classical styles. I have over 5 years of experience in singing in choirs as well, at Kutztown and in the PMEA District, Regional, State, and NAFME All-State Choirs. I've been singing with Brian Kirk and The Jirks, one of the East Coast's top cover bands, for 3 years now, performing at clubs, weddings, corporate events, and festivals. Since this January, I am also the lead singer of New Jersey cover band Street Hassle and The Brass Balls, performing at similar events. I've been giving lessons to younger students at Kutztown and friends/family for 2 years now.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

In lessons with me, students can expect to learn about all aspects of singing. Whether you're preparing for a musical, singing in a band, or just want to learn for fun, I can help you get the sound and look that you want. Learning how to sing is very different than other instruments. Rather than learning the parts of your instrument, you have to learn the parts of your body, and you must have a deep understanding of how your mind works. I believe the biggest thing holding most people back from using their voice to it's fullest potential is a mental block, and I can show you the right tricks to get around it. A lot of beginner singers don't realize there is much more to being a successful vocalist than just having a nice voice. A vocalist's main job is to entertain. Your look, stage presence, and personality all play a big part. I've been singing with some of the East Coast's top cover bands for 3 years now, so I have a lot of advice to give on these topics. If you already have some singing chops, I can still help you expand your skills even more. There are so many different ways to use your voice, and as musicians we can't ever become complacent and think "Yeah, I sound good enough. I'll stop practicing." There is always room to grow and learn.
