I'm Dean, Guitar and Music Production tutor. I've been happy to share my 17 years of experience on guitar with students of all ages over the last 4 years. Whether you're just starting out, or an established musician looking to focus in on a specific aspect of your craft, I'm here to help. 2020 – Present It’s been a great journey “learning to teach” through my students, main takeways being: Simplify. Getting connected back with day 1 of learning an instrument can be a surprisingly unnatural task for a teacher! Expressing things in simple, easy to understand terms is pivotal for students from grade school, to retirees. Hands-on learning. Everyone learns differently, but everyone learns by doing. I’ve taken a more and more “hands-off” role as a teacher over the years, the student can tell and show me more about what they need by playing, and through their communication, verbal and non-verbal. We have been having Dean teach our seventh grader how to play guitar is a bit of an extra curricular activity to supplement distance learning. We do 3 1-hour lessons per week and it has been the highlight of the learning experiences we’ve had. He is punctual and obviously very good at his job.
