What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Learning an instrument can be boring. That's not what I'm here for. I believe, in order to learn an instrument, a student needs dedication. But I also believe, to use the guitar as an extension of your creativity as a writer, a student needs needs a connection to the instrument. Whether a student is looking to nail a Hendrix solo note for note, or write their own story, word for word, I can get you there. I am just as happy to teach beginners learn chords and scales as I am to help an advanced guitarist find the missing piece to their guitar opus.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
My favorite aspect of music has always been the creation of it. Through the years, I've written and recorded hundreds of songs. As an English major, I've learned the importance of editing, but also what makes a piece feel timeless lyrically. I've also been focused on writing songs since the day I started playing a guitar. For me, your instrument and voice should be an extension of what you're trying to say. I want to help you say what you want the world to hear. Any genre is encouraged.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
I grew up singing in a Southern Baptist church. In school, I joined choir and by college I was writing songs and performing them with my first band. Singing in front of people can be scary. The easiest way to overcome fear and unlock your potential as a vocalist is to connect consistent training with inspiration. I have a three octave range and have 20 years of stage experience as the lead singer of several live bands and solo acoustic performances.
