About Me

I have loved music and song from as early as I can remember. I remember placing the needle down on my father's Beach Boys and The Guess Who, Albums, amongst many many others. Hearing the power of the music coming through the speakers, and the sonic delight and amazement reverberating around the room. It was so powerful. From that point on I wanted to be able to create that music and every sound associated with that.. my guitar playing started soon after, with the purchase of a used and worn Fender Stratocaster, a staple in the guitar world. From that point on it just skyrocketed, and soon ventured off into other instruments, which I was able to excel at through constant doggett practice and the love for music.

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Students at the beginning level should expect to be able to play barre chords and open chords, in key, within in just a few lessons, and also be able to tune there own guitar by ear. And start the building blocks of basic music theory, and to be able to play some of their favorite songs also. Then starting with basic pentatonic minor and major scales. The intermediate guitar player should expect to be excelling at all the basic scales from the Pentatonics today major minor scale the minor blues scale and the natural minor scale, and be able to be playing them up and down the fretboard in any key using scale positions wether major or minor scale is being used. Dexterity fluency and speed. Speed whatever you're comfortable with. Also being able to know the key you're playing in. And to start learning how to build Court structure and being able to name them just by the finger positioning. Being able to play and know 3rds, 5ths, octaves, etc. and the advanced player will learn the intervals of the major scale, and minor. Have a well versed chord repertoire. Also if you don't know the name of the chord, you will be able to name it in a heartbeat knowing the intervals. Having a very good command on all of your scales and positions in any key. Of course to an advanced guitar player soloing is a major part of that, so you will know modes of scales, and have a very good command of this important soloing theory. And also modes in chord theory, this will have you writing very good songs, that is literally a step outside of the norm. At this level, of course you will be writing good songs, at whatever level and whatever style that you would like to play. And to be able to solo over these songs with ease. So I hope this helps, this is just the abridged version of what to expect, guitar and music theory is so vast, and just a snapshot of what's entailed, though not to overwhelm the student. Trust me, we will go at whatever pace that is good for YOU! And that's knowing the material presented mentally and physically. Putting what you've learned to the guitar. Remember play everything with Heart and Soul! Guitar playing is fun, exciting, captivating, peaceful, serene. Are you ready to rock yet.....
