My name is Daniel and I have been playing music professionally since I was 15 years old. Born and raised in Texas, I describe myself as a self taught musician, although I have recieved some formal and secondary education. I began playing drums at age 5, bass at age 10, guitar at 12, and Piano at 15. also at the age of 15, I joined my first band of many, a country group of older musicians; I was the lead guitarist. I play many instruments, but I mainly gig as a guitarist or bassist. I am a very fine blues guitar player and a great slap bassist. I attended music courses at North Central Texas College and Austin Community College, and am currently working towards a bachelor's in music. After finding a fascination with jazz and blues after moving to denton, texas, as a teenager, I devoted several years to learning how to sight read standards, improvise over a wide variety of chord changes utilizing modal ideas, and learn an impressive body of tunes from the great history of jazz. Although jazz is of great interest to me, I really do excel at and appreciate all styles of music, from classical to metal. I grew up learning popular rock songs, crucial guitar riffs and solos, and have an impressive arsenal of songs memorized. Among my influences on Guitar (my instrument of choice) are Jimi hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, George Benson, Django Rhinehardt, Trey Anastasio, and Eric Clapton, etc; after teaching students of all ages different styles and different instruments, I have become familiar with what beginning to intermediate students most often want to learn, and have learned to utilize a methodical approach to learning songs, styles, and theory. Now at the age of 22, I am professional touring musician and teacher. I can play any style of music well, can read and write standard notation (as well as TAB), and have toured the country playing guitar and bass for miscellaneous bands. I also have developed some notoriety as a recording artist and producer; I have been writing original music since the age of 12, and recording my own music since the age of 14. After alot of hard work, in 2009, I sold one of my original songs to Rock and Roll Hall of Famer bassist Bootsy Collins (of James Brown and Parliament Funkadelic), and that is in the late production stages as of late. Currently, I am relocating to the Austin area to take a bass position with a touring band called Funkotron. With 3 years of experience teaching, I have found that it is something I truly enjoy doing, and am n
