Born and raised in Philadelphia PA where he was a working musician by the age of 14, Joe was being nurtured by 2 ex members of the the legendary Tommy Dorsey Band. Upon High School graduation, he attended the Berklee College of Music where he completed a 2 year Arranging and Composition program with Guitar being his principal instrument. After college, he spent the next 5 years either on the road playing bass, with Show Bands such as the Skyliners and Exodus or playing night clubs in Atlantic City and Philadelphia. It was during this time when he started acquiring bass guitar students. In the 1980's, he moved out west to Colorado playing the ski resorts and in Los Angeles where he recorded and performed in top nightclubs while teaching bass students. Recently he has been playing in a local community church with his three children and is active in the show and night club community. He is a featured member of the jazz band InnFusion and plays often in shows such as Rock Opera at the Center Stage Theater. Teaching style varies according to the needs of his student.
