My music education began in 5th grade, 1999, which would make this year my 15th year in music. My formal education accelerated in high school where our jazz band won multiple nationwide contests such as the Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Jazz Contest and a spot to play at the annual Midwest Festival. I received a B.A. in Music Performance from the University of Portland, where I played trombone, trumpet and tuba in their premier ensembles. Following my degree, I attended Berklee College of Music in pursuit of an electronic production or music engineering degree.

I received private lessons off and on throughout high school, and weekly upon joining a university. I have been honored to have private instructors who are top scholars, and have been asked to verify ancient instruments at the museum in DC. I have performed in various jazz and classical ensembles which tour the world.

My performing experience began in high school, playing at various functions in large jazz ensembles, small jazz combos, and a pep band. However, my professional experience began in Portland, OR, at my first university, where my main source of income became musicals and small jazz combo performances. My experience continued in Boston, MA, where I joined a ska band, parade band, recorded for student projects, played jam sessions, and subbed as needed in Berklee project bands.

My experience teaching started with assisting my fellow undergraduate students, and elementary schools in the area of the university. My first long term teaching experience was with the Roosevelt Middle School jazz band, where I helped start the school's first music program. Upon moving to Boston, I picked up two trumpet students, one of whom had one year background, the other was picking it up for the first time.
