I currently attend The University of South Florida, therefore, I am always in the Tampa Area as well as the Spring Hill and New Port Richey areas. I play a wide variety of styles which include: metal, classic rock, jazz, blues and classical. I am primarily a guitarist but I also play piano.
Michael Mu has over 10 years of music experience in the Spring Hill area.

Every student is different. In the first lesson, I will play a couple of songs for the student to see what I can do. I will have the student either play or attempt to play a piece of their choice. I try to gauge the students abilities, musical interests, and desire to learn. The main focus after that will be for the student to learn how to tune their instrument and for the parent to learn as well if applicable. If time permits, we will start with basic scales and possibly a couple of chords. Actual songs will come shortly after but more than likely not in the first lesson.
Formal Education:
May 2009: Associate of Arts Degree in Jazz Performance, PBCC. Sept. 2009 to Present: enrolled in Bachelor Degree program at USF. Experienced in the use of Guitar Pro and Finale. Experienced in compositional writing for a variety of instruments.
Private Education:
2004: Lessons from Van Gelder's in Monroe, N.Y. 2005: Guitar lessons from Mike Benninger, formally of the Yale School of Music.
Performing Experience:
Performed with my former band at a variety of places. Performed for school recitals.

2008 – Present: private music instruction, ages 6-21.
