My name is Josh, I am 22, and am currently a student at Husson. I have been playing guitar since I was 14, and have discovered a variety of music throughout my playing career. I am skilled in metal guitar and techniques such as sweep picking, tapping, harmonics, trills, riffs, and time signatures. My influences started off early in classic rock/metal such as AC/DC, Zeppelin, and the Metallica and now my major influences for electric guitar are The Human Abstract, Protest the Hero, and Between the Buried and Me. I am currently writing a metal album. I also took up playing classical guitar about 2 years ago. In my studies I have learned songs by musicians Barrios, Tarrega, Villa-Lobos, Pachelbel, Bach, and numerous others. I mainly play spanish or baroque era music, but am leaning new music everyday. I am fluent in scales, finger picking, tremelo, and techniques for the classical guitar. My influences for classical guitar are Segovia, John Williams, David Russell, Ana Vidovic, and many more.

Private Education:
I took music lessons for a few years early on and learned mainly blues based guitar. I am largely self taught using online resources and lessons from many professional guitar players.
Performing Experience:
I have performed mainly contemporary or classic rock covers in the past. I am looking to book weddings for the future, and am planning on releasing an album in the upcoming year.
Experience Teaching:
I have taught many of my close friends and family guitar in the past. I know that learning guitar is frustrating at first, but patience is the key. I have learned throughout teaching that not every student is the same or wants to learn the same music. My teaching style consists both of teaching the student guitar songs that they want to learn, while explaining the theory behind the music. A lot of students early on do not understand how important theory is, but it is essential when looking to enhance their playing.
